So.....assembly was easy. I found it easier to assemble it on the ground 6lbs of air on all the panels and the put in the side rails and small back window to truck cab rail, make sure its put in correctly.
Its easiest to have some help to pick the top up and rest it on your bed cap.
There are two small clamp extensions, you'll need for clamping the top down at both side rails closer to the back window of the cab, not your tailgate.
Thank you to Jimmy for the tips and extra help walking me through the install.
Got the AR Pre-Runner Grille Guard and unpacked and the box must have been dropped as the large front piece had broken thru the carton with minor scratches. All the parts were there but the instructions were limiting as to how to install on the my Tundra. Requested a set of installation instructions and they were emailed to me but weren't specific for my truck but was able to make them work. Took me about 3+ hours to install but was very pleased with the results. Looks awesome!
Great looking bull bar from Armordillo. It will be a waiting game to see if the bar holds up to the weather and rust. The installation is tricky for the Xterra. We did not cut the plastic and instead forced it on with relatively minimal push on the plastic. It was a challenge but we got it on. I went with this bar as its "made" for the Xterra. Its close but not perfect. It allowed me to mount a 22in lightbar from auxbeam on it and it sits about 4.5-8in away from the car depending on the spot. Overall, im pretty pleased. I hope it holds up really well for the cost.
I had this on my 1500. Wasn’t sure how it would look on the new ram 2500. It looks good, happy that this works on any truck, just need the hardware kit.
Overall quality of RTX is excellent! With that said, cover was delivered damaged but Jimmy has gone above and beyond to make it right. A+ customer service after the sell! Will definitely by from Armordillo again!
I think this bull bar is beautiful , is extremely sturdy and instructions are easy to read providing you have half a brain cell.
Great guard for front of F150. Had to remove grill to get the upper support mounts installed but overall installation was easy. Love the look of my truck even more.
I was able to pick this up on sale during president’s day at a phenomenal price. It makes my truck look so much cleaner, easy to use and took under an hour to install. Highly recommend!
Install took about 4 hours, even though it says it’s a 60-90 minute install time. Other than hard to use instructions I couldn’t be happier with how it looks on my truck. Worth every penny!
Well made , looks good, had some issues with the top bars that go in front of the condenser, had to do modifications on them drilling new holes on the bars and the actual sides two, but everything else fit good on the bottom and the cross bars. Gave it an extra touch by installing a light strip on the inside of the name center piece, to highlight, looks awesome at night.
Awesome running boards with led lights was easy to wire the lights up really work nice functions great best running boards with the led lights built in love them took about 30 minutes to install little harder bye yourself a nothing hand. Would be nicer. Very happy with these running boards 😃
Fits awesome, easy to install no cutting or welding, wire install them at the rear hitch plug just bought a trailer wire kit for a trailer on Amazon and enough wire to work with!! Bit expensive, but it’s worth every penny, this thing is made though to get dirty, and cool looking at the same time!!
Just installed the armordillo B1 Bull bar, on my 2020 silverado. It looks good and fits good. Took some figuring out, as I wanted to retain my tow hooks also. After some trial-and-error we figured out that you have to put the divers side tow hook on the passenger side and vise a versa. Tapped them in with a rubber mallet and all lined up. Had to buy 2 longer bolts to go through the frame mount and tow hook. 7 dollars for the nuts and bolts. Looks great and still kept my tow hooks. I have enclosed pictures of my truck with the bull bar and my tow hooks. Figured it would show up good with my red tow hooks.
Looks great. Fitment almost bolt on, had to enlarge the 3 location tower holes on hood,
about .020-.025, EZ modification with a carbide bit. Also make sure to put washers on the supplied upper mounting hardware supplied to prevent fastener pulling thru hood mounting holes. This product is quality, fitment and appearance. I recommend and Armordillo shipping was super fast.
Instructions need better details and pictures. Had one lower bracket stamped wrong, but just flipped it and it worked. Found it best to put bumper cover on first and feed the tow hook brackets through. Nice look, forms to the body well.
Good stuff for truck. Good quality and great price. But not compatible with folded bed covers.
Hello, I would like to say that my steps are great and they give a very good view of my truck. I recommend them. They are very pretty. The only thing is that they have details of dents. I don't know if it was during delivery or from the seller. That was the only bad thing, but I needed them. I decided to stay with them
The install and mounting of the steps were very easy and straight forward.
It took less than 30 minutes from mounting and tightening all the bolts by myself.
For the wiring, I decided to run them off my trailer harness wiring.
Doing this, the lights function the same way a hooked trailer would function.
Lights turn on when tail running lights are on and the blinkers corresponds with the respected blinker/turn signals.
I didn't really want my lights to be on in the day time, so when my lights turn on automatically at dusk-evening, the lights turn on.
How I wired mine:
- I purchased a trailer wire harness that plugs into my trailer plug
- Ran the wires behind my license plate
- Ran all wires from the front of the steps to the back following factory wires that ran along the bottom frame (use extra wire to reach the back)
- Connected to the wires from the trailer harness (cut any excess wires)
- Text, zip tie and clean up
**Alternative: cut back the cover of the trailer wiring harness behind the license plate, tap into the corresponding wires. Then replace electrical tape.
If you want the lights to turn on with differntly, you'll need to decide when you want them to.
**Keep in mind that each steps have their own set of wiring. Running lights will need to be combined or connected independently to the same wires on the opposite side of your vehicle.
Example: if you want the lights to turn on with your DRL's, you'll need to tap into the DRL wire(s)...
Find which lights to tap into and it'll start up when those lights have power.
This will be the brown wire.
The other option is to tap into each tail lights' corresponding wires.
For a 22 Tacoma, that would be the middle set of wires (top = Brake lights/bottom = reverse lights).
I hope that gives an idea on where to start planning the start up function of the lights.
For now, tapping into the trailer harness wires work for me.
**Make sure you cover the wires with tubing or some type of cover to protect from the elements under your vehicle.
Overall, love the product.
Not too heavy, sturdy to stand on for reaching my roof rack & and getting into my rig. Design is great. Really goes in line with the side of the truck without being too much of an eye soar (doesn't belong).
Love the way it looks but would not want to put them on for a living! A little over 2hrs and a few colorful adjectives later and I was very satisfied with the improved looks of my 2021 Silverado. Seems very structurally sound!
I definitely recommend this product!! The quality is awesome and looks pretty bad A$$!! Installation wasn’t too bad, but for one person, it took a little time. Installed on my 2022 F-250.
Install was tough due to having diesel Chevy. Intercooler was in the way of tow hook removal. Kit was missing 6 washers too.
